Back to the DNS ENTRY GENERATOR ..!

Domain Name (required)

The Domain Name is the name you have registrated. For example the Domain Name of this site is professional-webmaster.com as you can see this is my website location without(!) the www.

Email Address (required)

This is an email address where people can contact you if something is wrong with your Domain. So it must not be an address within your Domain. For example use a hotmail.com or an use.net email address or an email address given by your connection provider that you check regularly. You must be able to send from and receive on this email address.

Contact Info (required)

This is the information where people can contact you about your Domain; this may contain your post address and phone number.

IP Number (required)

This must be the location where your site is stored. This must not be a dynamic IP, if you have a dynamic IP, please visit the extra help page. An IP number looks like this 123.234.183.23 (four numbers between 0 and 255 separated by dots).

Use NS3 also

The nameserver ns3.granitecanyon.com is the same machine as ns2.granitecanyon.com but has a different IP address. So the route to find the server on the Internet is different, some domainname providers can not find the server via the NS2 route, so in that case you can use NS3.

MX Record Target

This defines the location of your mail server. If you don't know or not sure what I mean with mailserver, leave this field empty.

MX Priority

Give the order of the mailservers, the one with the lowest number will be checked first. Usual numbers are 10, 20, 30 ect. But you may choose numbers between 0 and 65535. It's common to count in ten vaults.

Sub Domain

The Static IP form will standard set all subdomains (e.g. www.altavista.com and babel.altavista.com are both subdomains of the Domain altavista.com) to your server location. If you have a Dynamic IP or free hosted site, the form will standard set the www subdomain to your website location. If you would like to point a subdomain somewhere, you can simply do that by filling in the name here and the target.

CName Target

The CNameTarget (e.g. target of an subdomain) must point to a Domain declared in an A record. This A record may be in this or in an external DNS entry file. This target can be for example also the Domain Name of your dynamic IP. Such Domain Names are free available on for example publicredirect.com, then it will be go.publicredirect.com.

GLOBALOK

If you don't have your own Valid DNS host names that are compliant with RFC 1034 may be alphanumeric characters, only. If you are defining a global record, that is, one that contains an asterisk ('*'), then you must include the following escape to nslint as a comment on the resource record:; GLOBALOK

EXTREF

If you have a reference to a record outside of your zone, then add the following nslint escape to the end of the resource record in question.; EXTREF
